Case 02

This patient was told ALL his teeth needed to be crowned and that he needed multiple root canals and possibly extractions! He may have needed as many as SIXTEEN root canals! We were able to restore all his teeth without ONE SINGLE crown or root canal. This is "miracle" dentistry.

In "normal" dentistry this case would be considered impossible - but it's not a problem with you combine biological dentistry with biomimetic dentistry.

This tooth would have been crowned because of the large filling and decay under it that you can see. I have cleaned it up, isolated it then built it up. And finally, it looks and functions just like the natural tooth.

Sorry about a little gore on these photos. Normally I try to keep the gore out of the picture, but I thought this would be really important to show you the nitty-gritty of exactly how this biomimetic stuff works. I wanted you to have at least one raw photo on here so you can see what this type of restoration is really like. These teeth were in VERY dire condition. Using contemporary dentistry, these teeth would have been crowned and possibly root canaled You can see how we only removed the decay necessary and slowly built up the teeth from there, saving all the natural tooth structure. Now they are strong and safe using biomimetic dentistry and ready for the final onlays (porcelain "hats") once they are made in the lab. This is how we get so much life out of our restorations - the porcelain onlay restores the bite surface while the inner layered filling material acts as a shock absorber - just like Mother Nature intended!

Here is another area of this patient's mouth with a crown that was leaking and when we took the crown off there was almost nothing under it (as you can see in photos). I was able to build this tooth back up to seal it off and handling any future leakage as well as build a lot of the original flexation and density back into the tooth.

Case 06

This patient was starting to experience the gradual decline that you often see in standard dentistry: a filling - then another filling - then a crown/root canal - then extraction/implant. He was tired of it and didn't have the time to spend in pain and at the dentist every year because he is quite busy.

Case 07

If you look very carefully, you can see the nerve or root inside the tooth on an xray. On the corners of the top of the root, if you look closely, there are "horns" that are on the corners of the nerve. If you look at these xrays - the decay is practically on top of the horn of the root on this case. This patient was trying to avoid a root canal. We rebuilt this tooth and 6 months after treatment the tooth is still stabilized and we were able to avoid a root canal. Practically ANY dentist or endodontist would have recommended root canal on this tooth.

Case 08

This was an existing patient of mine with some night-time clenching and grinding. I initially told him that we needed to extract this tooth but then, over the following few days, I spoke to some of my friends in the biomimetic arena and did a little research. I decided to attempt the "impossible." Using biomimetic technology in a very advanced style, I rebuilt this tooth with the patient's agreement that this tooth MAY not last and that this is experimental. It has been several months now and the tooth is fully stable. This is about as "cutting-edge" as dentistry gets in this day and age.

Case 09

This patient had a crown done 7 months prior to these photos. It kept falling off so she came to me to see what could be done. I took off the crown and this is what I found underneath! So terrible to see work like this - no wonder the crown kept falling off. The red dye is used in biomimetic dentistry to make sure we are only removing decay, NOT discoloration. We don't want to accidentally create a root canal, which is very common in traditional dentistry.

If your mechanic told you that the only way to fix your engine is to grind it down into a little nub and then put a big ceramic piece over the part that was ground down, I think you would start asking some questions.

Or what if your toe was in pain so your doctor said that he needed to go in and drill out all the nerves of your foot so you didn't hurt anymore? This is what a root canal is. It's silly if it's not 100% required.

Sometimes the root is ACTUALLY infected and needs a root canal, but the usage of crowns and root canals as a "standard" of dentistry simply doesn't make sense.

Doing a root canal because the tooth "might get infected" is completely ridiculous.

Why don't we saw your arm off because you "might break it"?

At my office, this is what we think makes sense:
  1. If the root is currently and actively infected then it needs a root canal. We determine if the tooth is actively infected with a series of diagnostic procedures including xrays, cold testing, etc - the most obvious proof being an actual abscess shown on an xray. If it isn't infected then let's fix it and watch it carefully and not drill down and rip all of the roots out the tooth unless, at a later time, we find that it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Most of the time it's not. If it is infected, we refer you to someone who specializes in GentleWave root canal technology because that is the only type of root canal I trust - I don't want there to be remaining bacteria in the nerve after I rebuild it which could cause another infection later.

You can see more information about GentleWave by watching this YouTube Video:

You can see more information about GentleWave by watching this YouTube Video, CA 91436

**Important note: The reason why I recommend root canals rather than extraction is because no one bothers to tell you all of the horrible things that occur when you just start pulling teeth. The teeth collapse into the space, you start to lose your ability to chew and implants are invasive and expensive - we can avoid all that by doing a proper root canal. Yes, there is a lot of horrible information on the internet about root canals but a GentleWave root canal handles the downfalls of root canals and leaves behind a very well-cleaned out tooth that a biomimetic dentist, such as myself, can then seal off and build up. We have been doing this for years and the teeth are cleaned and sealed so bacteria cannot get back in the root and reinfect the tooth. I would never recommend that someone get a non-GentleWave root canal. This is an excellent alternative over extraction/bone graft/implants and my free holistic dental course goes over this in detail as well. I hope you sign up.**

  2. If there is decay on a tooth but there is still some good tooth structure, why would you grind all that good tooth structure and make the nerve of the tooth die because it senses such horrible danger that it just gives up and dies? You should grind out the decay then build the tooth up structurally from that point and leave the rest of the good tooth ALONE. This allows the nerve to do it's job and bring nutrients in and out of the tooth. (A man with no job or direction in life dies from boredom and purposeless, it appears tooth nerves act the same way.)
If you agree with these two points and disagree with the part I was saying at the beginning, you will most likely be our patient soon.

Some people reading this might think "well yeah, OF COURSE, that sounds way better." But what you don't know is that most people really don't care or just don't look. What may be common sense to you would surprise you.

Call around to several dentists and ask this question: "if I have a tooth that has 20% decay, would your office deliver a crown on that tooth?" and you will be shocked to find that every single office you call will answer yes to that question. (I told a potential patient to do this one day over the phone and, to my surprise, she actually did and came in and told me this, which is how I know. She became our patient shortly afterwards. )

Crowns are the bread and butter of a typical dental office. They are easy to make, easy to place and they yield a nice profit; which is why dentists are so eager to get them placed.

But let's be fair, in moments where the tooth is already ground all the way down and completely destroyed, a crown might be an option. But what about all that good tooth structure of a tooth that isn't totally destroyed already?

We give dentistry a facelift by combining the following technologies into a unified whole:
  1. Mercury and metal free dentistry
  2. Biomimetic dentistry
  3. Minimally-invasive dentistry
  4. Crown/Root Canal avoidance whenever possible (most of the time it is)
  5. Holistic dentistry
  6. Total 1-on-1 dentistry where the doctor takes the time to give you a high-quality experience that is comforting and is perfection, technically.

In order to deliver all of this under one roof, I have gone through the gauntlet of life and I needed to learn all of these different techs over the past 30 years then, through experience, learned to mold them together into a workable and complete system.

Only through sweat, blood and tears can a person take multiple technologies and combine them into a functional whole.

Biomimetic Dentists Unite!

Here are some pictures of when Dr. David Alleman and Dr. Deliperi visited Los Angeles to deliver some advanced training in biomimetic dentistry.

I had the pleasure of spending the day with Dr. Beth Settle, Dr. Matt Nejad (a wonderful biomimetic master in Beverly Hills), Dr. Tibbles and several other fantastic dentists looking to improve their "game" by learning the advanced levels of this incredible technology.

There are many different levels of biomimetic training, but the only level that requires proof of application of the technology is the "master" level.

Any lower level of training is ONLY theoretical and DOES NOT guarantee that you will get full biomimetic treatment.

There are only a handful of them on the entire planet, but there may possibly be one near you!

The way you can find out if they are masters is by asking them if they are a member of the Biomimetic Masters Group. This group is by INVITE ONLY and the doctor has to prove his skill by submitting detailed proof showing that he knows this technology COLD.

You should ONLY trust your mouth with a biomimetic master! Don't get fooled!

P.S. - I'm on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry. If you are a dentist or know a dentist that wants to get trained in this INCREDIBLE technology, please call my office! We will help!

Holistic/Biomimetic Restorations Google reviews from patients to best dentists Dr. Paul O'Malley is the BEST dentist in L.A.! Most people may not know that holistic and biomimetic dentistry is all about KEEPING YOUR TEETH, not destroying them. Amalgam fillings, root canals and traditional crowns destroy teeth and can lead to mercury poisoning and infections. Dr. Paul is highly skilled in Biomimetics which preserves as much tooth as possible and builds lost or damaged tooth areas in layers of bio-compatible composites for strength and durability. And Dr. Paul is a true artist when it comes to repair and reconstruction. Check out the before-and-after photos on his website. Your teeth have worked hard for you all your life. They deserve the best care to ensure they'll continue to work hard for years to come!

How it Works

1. Educate Yourself
I am not your average dentist. It's important you understand why dentistry is so bad and exactly what alternatives are available for you. It's also important that you learn a lot about PREVENTION, so that way we only need to do work on you once. My free course is the best way to do that. You can sign up for free at the bottom of this page. We require all new patients to go through the free course prior to getting their exam. If you would like a list of the free course videos so that you can move through them faster, simply call, email or text in and Brandon can send that to you.
Dental X-Rays for a Free Evaluation
2. Send in Xrays for Free Evaluation or Come in for $100 Full Mouth Series
If you have a Full Mouth Series of xrays from the past year, send them in for a FREE evaluation from Dr. O'Malley. If not then, just like the video at the top of each page states, you come in for $100 xrays and the evaluation is free. If you are currently in pain then call in and we can handle emergencies by using our network of referral doctors. We don't want to rush into treatment until the game plan is 100% worked out and the diagnosis is complete. Planning is key and you need to understand what is happening with your body.
3. See if We Are the Right Fit
As you are rolling through the free course and waiting for your xrays to be evaluated, Brandon, my office manager, is always available to answer questions via email or calling in. Our cost is around $900 per tooth for smaller restorations or $3,200 per tooth for larger restorations. We can help you file with your insurance but we do not file on your behalf. We do not do 1-tooth-dentistry but can give you a recommendation to other dentists who do. Call us, we will help! Whatever you need, we will try to give you the solution!
4. Come in For a Comprehensive In-Person Evaluation
My initial exam and xrays is $295 but if you paid for the $100 Full Mouth Series then it's only $195 (that amount comes off). We will get to know each other and also do a full 2-3 hour clinical examination. This step is NEVER rushed. You will have NO mysteries about your mouth and complex cases are VERY welcome. It's time to end your dental disaster once and for all. Compatibility between us is key before getting involved with treatment! I will print you a full treatment plan with pricing and sequences based on which areas are in the worst condition. Average treatment plans range from $5,000-$90,000.
5. Go Over the Finances and Begin
Your treatment plan is broken down and options are given to address your entire mouth as a system - section by section. I don't do "duct-tape dentistry" and I want a product of a healthy and functional mouth FOR LIFE, so please be ready to confront handling your mouth once and for all. We work with CareCredit, LendingClub, and we also have a list of great 0% credit card options. Any major work needs to be pre-paid prior to scheduling. Once your work is complete then I would like to get you using my products from Great Oral Health (www.greatoralhealth.com) to ensure you don't need any more work in the future.

For Out-of-Town Patients:

I LOVE to help patients that are coming in from out-of-town. We can have it so that we can do the most amount of work in the fastest period of time while also reducing the amount of appointments you need. If you want to, we can even start putting together a plan by using a combo of pictures and xrays over email/phone before you even fly in to see us. On the first appt we can do the full exam, xrays and impressions all within around 2 hours. Then we can prep everything and coordinate with any surgical aspects and lab work. Then, about 2-3 weeks later, we can bring you in for a very large appt to get everything rolling. We can even do 2 very large days back-to-back - like a Saturday and a Monday or a Friday and a Monday. Ideally, you can stay in town for a couple of days to verify we're all stable, then you can leave if you want. Then we would bring you back one more time for a weekend like that and we will generally be able to do most of your case in that time frame. If you're mainly veneers, it's a much easier case. But if you have a very complex case and quite a bit of complex decay, it can change the above but the basic layout is 1-2 large appts over a weekend every 2-4 weeks. But it all really comes down to what you want and how aggressively you want to complete work. In this way we can get a fully biomimetic restoration - giving you long-lasting functionality, aesthetics and comfort - while also compressing time to be as efficient as possible for you. I know you're busy and your time is VERY valuable and I will always work diligently to give you the best available dentistry while at the same time protecting your schedule and your personal life. All my dentistry is one-on-one so when you come in for your appointment, it's all about you. We're a team together in this project and I'm not running from room-to-room, you get my FULL attention to get a PERFECT product.

Type in your email address here for my free Holistic Dental Course via Email. It doesn't cost a dime and will protect you from bad dentistry. The videos come one per day for a series of days so if you want all the videos in a single email, please either call, text or email Brandon and he will send it all to you.
